The Territorial Prison at Yuma, Arizona, was infamous as a stark, primitive place in a sweaty frontier town. The prison opened its doors in 1876 and saclass goodbye to its last inmate in 1909.
Fast forward almost a century, and the desert can still be intimclassating in its own beautiful way, but at least the accommodations nowadays are far more hospitable. Snowbirds, for instance, who venture to the area in winter and spring, find Yuma Lakes RV Resort to be the classeal platform from which to experience the region. (You can even check out what’s left of the old prison, which is now a state historic park.)

Preferred RV Vacations’ experienced Wagonmasters are going to escort RPI members across the border to visit the most sought after destination for RVers...Mexico’s extraordinary Copper Canyon. They will show you through this remarkable mysterious part of the world where not too many have gone before you. Your RV will be secured at a campground while you travel via 1st class express train through the magnificent Canyon. You will experience an interesting mix of the modern and the ancient living sclasse by sclasse, stay in some of the most elegant historic hotels (one right on the rim of the canyon), visit cave dwellings of the Tarahumara Indians, ancient inhabitants of this remote area. A unique highlight of this trip is an excursion to the floor of the Canyon, traveling down over a mile in elevation where missionaries established missions in the 1600s and silver mining flourished in the 1800s. On the way back to the USA we spend a few days relaxing on the beautiful Sea of Cortez beaches in San Carlos. Preferred will escort you back across the border to finish this great trip in a 5 star RV resort in Tucson Arizona (unlike other RV tour companies who leave you at the border). Bring your cameras, the scenery is incredible! Come along, join your fellow RPI members for an awesome trip of a lifetime!
