Skyline Ranch is one of my favorite RPI resorts because of its great location. Sitting in the Shenandoah Valley and within a short drive from Washington, DC, you will have a hard time finding a better vacation destination.
I first visited Skyline Ranch years ago when my boys were young. It’s no surprise why this was a hit with my boys - their western themed clubhouse and pool area looked right out of Disney.
And, their playground, with its king sized slide, swings and teeter totters, was a huge hit with my boys. Plus, they have a game room, mini golf, and a fishing pond. Plenty to do on site, but Skyline also serves as a great base camp for exploring the area.
The area has an abundance of outdoor activities. From hiking along wooded nature trails to canoeing to horseback riding and you don’t want to miss the spectacular Skyline Caverns or the nearby Luray Caverns. Plus, there is a wealth of historical sites and museums located within a short drive from Skyline Ranch. And, for the grown-ups, don’t miss visiting one of the many wineries along the Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail.
