Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about RPI
1. Who may join RPI?
RPI memberships are not available to the general public. Only members of resorts that are affiliated with RPI may join. The RPI
Preferred and RPI Preferred Gold memberships are available only through RPI Preferred resorts.
2. How many resorts are affiliated with RPI and RPI Preferred today?
RPI has hundreds of affiliated resorts nationwide. New resorts are always being added, so the number is always changing.
Visit RPI online at www.resortparks.com for up-to-date information on affiliated resorts.
3. What does it cost to join RPI, RPI Plus, RPI Preferred, or RPI Preferred Gold?
The initial membership fee is determined by an individual's home resort.
4. Does a membership run on a calendar year or the date submitted on the application?
Memberships are for a full year from the date the application is received by RPI. Members receive a renewal notice each year,
approximately three months prior to the anniversary of their initial application.
5. When will I receive my membership card?
Permanent membership cards are received within 30 days from the time your application is received by RPI if the application is
complete and membership fees have been paid. Membership materials mailed outside the U.S. are subject to shipping fees and
may take up to 90 days to reach you.
6. Does my membership include my children and other relatives?
Your RPI membership does not include other family members. You are welcome to bring your family with you as long as you
don't exceed site capacity limits set by the host resort. RPI Preferred and RPI Preferred Gold members have Family Passes that
allow family members or friends to use the RPI Preferred network on their own.
7. What happens to my membership if my home resort ends its affiliation with RPI?
Your membership remains valid until the expiration date on your membership card. Your membership is non-renewable unless it is
transferred to another resort in the RPI network.
8. If I decide not to renew my membership, may I renew it at a later date?
Yes. However, there is a $100-$150 reinstatement fee in addition to the current renewal fee.
9. Do RPI memberships include the Enjoy America! program?
Enjoy America! membership is included with RPI Plus, RPI Preferred, and RPI Preferred Gold memberships. Current RPI members
may upgrade to RPI Plus for a nominal fee.
10. How many membership cards come with my membership?
One. Additional or replacement cards can be issued for a $5 processing fee.
11. What is the per night charge at an RV resort?
RV sites are $10 per night.
12. I don't always know where I will be. Must I always make reservations in advance?
We recommend that you make reservations as far in advance as possible to ensure space. Some resorts require advance
reservations. However, some resorts do not accept reservations and only accept members on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Please refer to the resort guide for specific requirements.
13. Am I always guaranteed a space or rental accommodation at a host resort?
All reservations are made on a space available basis at the time of booking. RPI cannot guarantee fulfillment at a specific resort.
14. May I use all of the RPI resorts?
You may use all of the resorts located outside a 125-air mile (not driving) radius of your home. RPI Preferred and RPI Preferred
Gold members do not have the mileage restriction when visiting RPI Preferred resorts.
15. How often may a member visit an RPI resort each year?
You may visit each resort twice per year, but no more than seven nights per visit. You must be out at least one week before
returning. Day use counts as a visit.
16. How often may a member visit an RPI Preferred resort each year?
RPI Preferred and RPI Preferred Gold members may visit each resort as often as they like for up to 14 consecutive nights.
During peak seasons, members may visit up to two times. There must be seven days between visits before returning to the
same resort or resort group.
17. As a member of RPI, may I visit an RPI Preferred resort?
Yes. All RPI Preferred resorts are part of the RPI network. You may use the resorts based on the RPI usage rules. (See
Question 14 for details.)
18. If I have another reciprocal membership and an RPI membership, am I entitled to stay two weeks
combining the two memberships?
No. The rights to reciprocal use may not be combined. You cannot stay at a resort as a member of one system and stay
another week as a member of RPI. This is controlled by each resort.
19. I belong to two RPI resorts. Does this entitle me to double the RPI visiting privileges?
No. Individuals receive only one membership to RPI and the rules on visiting privileges refer to "persons," not "members."
20. Why do some resorts have extra charges for certain things, such as horseback riding?
Host resorts may have extra charges for certain amenities and facilities. These fees are determined and collected at the host
resort. RPI members pay the same as the home resort members pay.
21. What are the price ranges for RPI affiliated condominiums?
Rates will vary from $450 to $950 per week and are based on location, amenities, season or size, and are set by our
affiliated developers. RPI Preferred Gold members also have access to condominiums worldwide at special member rates
starting as low as $299 per week through Preferred Access.
